Gardeners Wool™ In my effort to reduce waste and recycle a bit more I discovered..
Gardeners wool™ it is used as mulch for your plants.
This is made from low end wool or unspinable bits of discarded wool.
I came across this theory from a new knitting/crochet/spinning forum.
The theory is it helps as natural weed control, aids in plant nutrition, helps retain moisture, reduces (and possibly elminiates) the need for herbicides, and I personally have found (while experimenting with it) it makes transplanting fragile fruits, vegetables, and other plants Much easier.
When you begin your seedlings in a peat pot you will want 3 layers of soil and 2 layers of gardeners wool ™
